A gonna be hot one GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, looks like it’s gonna be a hot one today! Drink water folks even if you are sitting in the AC. Stay hydrated my friends!
What Would You Do Wednesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s WEDNESDAY! And I do love WEDNESDAYS!
I’ll start with a question: are we THAT dependent on electricity? On electronics?
Apparently, Tim Shaddock and his faithful dog were.
Tim is the guy who was found at sea after being lost for three months.
Sounds pretty amazing to have survived at sea for three months. At least in this day and age.
I saw the headline about it earlier this week. Probably Monday. Saw the news story about it last night. Then asked myself “What Would You Do” if lost at sea. Good question.
I’m not much of a sailor so I guess my first thing would be WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE ALONE?!?!
Then, I kinda looked a bit at his boat. It had a sail. Hmmm.
He said he became stranded because a storm knocked out his electronics. But, he had a sail. A big sail. That was not raised up at all. At least from the pictures I seen.
Surviving on sushi and rainwater…not a new thing. Japanese sailors have been doing it for CENTURIES. Where do you think sushi first came from? Japanese fishermen would go out in their wooden boats with a big pot of rice. Couldn’t light a fire on a wooden boat so they cut up raw fish and BAM! SUSHSI!
OH! AND ANOTHER THING! Lying media! He did not survive by eating SUSHI! He survived by eating SHASHIMI! BIG DIFFERENCE! Why? He didn’t have any rice!
But he still had a sail.
I guess I’m a bit perplexed on why he would be “lost at sea” if he had the ability to propel that boat.
Unless his sailing abilities were lost unless he had electricity. Meaning his boat system would have been all computer operated with the sail being raised and lowered by electric motors which he did not know how to take out so he could manually raise and lower that sail. Motors that he could not disengage so he could manually steer that boat. Followed by an inability to navigate the old ways of the Mariner…by the stars and a sextant.
I think, if I was going to set out on the open seas, I would have to ask “What Would I Do” if the power goes out on this boat. Am I dead in the water or can I figure out how to operate this boat in the old ways.
Granted, I am sure Tim’s family is grateful he is alive. I think the next step should be some sailing classes.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Be the person a stranger will do CPR on. Check in on each other and remember acorns are trees…IN A NUTSHELL! BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHA…TIMBER!
Peace
