Ed-vise: Important Docs

A getting darker GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, the morning Forward Ambulation was a bit darker this morning. Means fall is coming…after some boiling hot temps next week!

Free For All Friday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s FRIDAY! OPEN MAT; PIZZA NIGHT!

Devastating fires on Maui.

Just devastating.

If you go online you can see the pictures. The town of Lahaina is burnt to the ground. Tales abound of people literally jumping into the ocean to save themselves.

Can you imagine jumping into the ocean and everything around you is on fire? And fire burning like that is loud.

So far, the count is at 56 dead. Those are the ones they found not in building structures. There will be more. The fire came through so early that people were in beds asleep. That’s how fast it came.

Here’s another little bit of Ed-vise for the group: check your insurance policies.

Check that they are current and match the replacement value of your home and your stuff at it’s current value.

A few years ago, down in California, there were fires…go figure.

The fires burned in the mountains around Los Angeles. The San Gabriels. Prior to those fires, there were people who managed to buy land up there early on. Like in the 70s when land was relatively cheap. In the Hollywood Hills, there are actually people who bought land for like dirt cheap and it is now valued in the millions. Those people were what they called “hippies.”

Well, those in the San Gabriel Mountains did have insurance on their property. However, some of the policies were written to insure a house valued in the $100,000…not the multi-million dollar amount their home and property was worth 40 years later.

Add to that check of insurance policies, make sure you know where they are and have them in a location that you can get them quickly if you have to run or they are in a fire proof safe. Same goes with your estate planning stuff (good point ED!). Make sure all that stuff is readily accessible by you and/or your loved ones.

Yes, the stuff might be available on-line with your insurance company or whatever. That’s fine.

However, there is only one person you can trust to take care of you and those you love. Best to have your own copy as well.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Be the person you would do CPR on. Check in on each other and remember if your dog has a fever give it mustard. It’s the best thing for a…HOT DOG! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHA…RUFF!

Peace
