There is some SHIT that needs to get addressed on this Maui disaster.
HOLY CATS! The hate and scams and just stupid shit being put on social media is just crazy. That’s the best word I could come up with.
A couple of “Tin Hats” on Tik Tok literally are saying it’s a guided satellite laser that did these fires. Their basis is the trees that didn’t burn and cars in the middle of the street, burned up with the doors closed.
Just, believe me, there was no laser.
Still, such statements don’t surprise me. Disappoint me: YES! Surprise: NO.
Reason I say this has to do with one of my posts a while back where I said if one coast of Good Ol’ ‘Murica was attacked, the other side probably wouldn’t believe it despite what live feed news was saying.
Now, the other day I talked about insurance and making sure you are covered in such an event or disaster. Read your policy and make sure there are no bullshit small print things that would prevent you from getting full payout to make you whole and complete.
Case in point is Maui. Some of the homeowners have paid off their house many years ago. Before the housing market flew off the chart. Their home was only insured for a certain amount. Probably less than the value of the home today and less than replacement value. Make sure you are insured enough.
Here’s the other thing: read that fine print. Word is coming out that insurance companies are not paying because of zoning infractions. Meaning the house had an addition or something done that violated a zoning law.
I’m telling you now folks: READ YOUR POLICY! Make sure you are going to get reimbursed.
Despite what you think, the insurance companies do not make money by being nice. They make money by not having to pay out the money you send them. If they can come up with a reason to not pay, THEY WILL NOT!
Last rant has to do with the $700 that the President is sending out.
Yes, it is a small amount compared to cost of living. I think I can get a viente latte at Starbucks for that. But not at the Starbucks in Disneyland.
Everyone is all pissed about that money versus the amount going to Ukraine.
Here’s the thing: it’s two VERY DIFFERENT buckets of money.
Both buckets are set up by…CONGRESS! That’s right. CONGRESS. They set up what agency gets the money. AND…AND…AND…if the President does not spend that money the way Congress tells the President to…THAT is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
So, CONGRESS told the President back in 2022 (I think) that he could do a one time cash payment of $700 in a disaster such as this one in Maui.
CONGRESS did NOT authorize the President to take money from Ukraine and give it to Maui.
Plain and simple.
So, the next time some jackass pipes off that the President isn’t doing anything…direct them to my blog. Hopefully I can set them straight. Maybe
