Let’s talk a bit about the Pac 12…which is no more…maybe.
Everyone has left except for my Beaves and the Cougars.
What’s left behind: money. And a LOT of it.
The rest of the conference took off under the notion of greener grass.
The reasoning was 100% money. Make no mistake, those teams left for money. They might boast about opportunities (money), about access to learning (bullshit!), or whatever other garbage those schools might throw. It was straight up money.
On a side note: I wonder what would have happened if Phil Knight had told U of Oregon “stay put or you will get no more money from Nike.” Just something to ponder.
So, now, those schools will travel all over God’s Green Earth to have access to money.
Fine, go.
And the Mountain West Conference will take in the Beaves and Cougs.
What it could look like is something amazing…I think.
When the Mountain West takes in the Beaves and Cougs, I hope the Pac logo goes with it.
See, it boils down to the Beaves and Cougs need a conference, which the Mountain West possesses. The Pac-? has a ton of money which the Mountain West could use. Plus, the Pac-? still has a lot of notoriety.
If they read my Ed-vise they will merge into the Pac-West (you read it here first!) and have something AWESOME to tell USC and UCLA they cannot come back!
