Ed-Vise: Patriot Day

A FOOTBALL GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, the FOOTBALL is HERE! Unless you play for the Giants! Yes, GIANTS, the season has begun so you can start playing now versus letting Dallas hang 40 points on you! Hate to be at practice today!

Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So GET AFTER IT!

In case you were wondering, flags are flying at half mast today.

Why?

It’s September 11th.

The days bleed into each other. One day into the next, into the next, into the next.

So much so that we forget what day it is. We forget the “why” behind flags being at half mast.

I forgot…to be 100% honest. Even though September 11th had a huge impact on the direction my life took as it did with so many others.

Still, it was on my way home from morning Jits that I noticed the big flag in my town flying at half mast.

I figured it was some political thing (being that my town leans to the red). Then, I asked my Oracle of Google. It reminded me.

Today is Patriot Day.

On September 8, 2023, President Biden proclaimed that today, September 11th, would forever be called Patriot Day.

The proclamation came with little fanfare. It didn’t make national headlines. The 8th was actually proclaimed as National Suicide Prevention Day.

Alan Jackson wrote a song called “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning?” It’s a great song. I play it every year on this day. I play it one time and no more. Still brings a tear to the eye. Take a listen to it. Even if you’re not a country fan.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Be the person a stranger will do CPR on. Check in on each other and remember Cinderella is bad at soccer because she always…RUNS FROM THE BALL! BWAHAHAHHAHA…Get it?

Peace
