A physical GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, working on the conditioning because I’m testing…again…for my 4th degree black belt in DZR Ju Jitsu. Took a shot at it in September but didn’t make it. Plenty of lessons learned though…PLENTY!
Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So GET AFTER IT!
Well, Diane Feinstein has passed away.
She actually passed away Friday but I’m just now getting to it because I wasn’t exactly sure how I wanted to go about blogging on her.
See, she has been in politics since FOREVER! Literally. Born in 1933 and finished all her education (grad of Stanford) in 1955. Then, got a job at a fellowship teaching young kids about politics. She received a political appointment in 1960 and won her first election in 1969 where she sat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
Then, in 1978, the board appointed her as mayor because Harvey Milk was assassinated. She stayed as mayor until 1988 when she term limited out.
Then, in 1992 she managed to land in the US Senate. Where she stayed until she died in her seat just the other day. 31 years in that seat. She was 90.
The average age in the US Senate is 64. There are 33 (32) members of the Senate that are over the age of 70. The way the rules are written, the longer a person is in the Senate, the more power they wield over the party.
And, in my opinion, the more out of touch they become with respect to us the voters.
They just keep on playing the political games and keep on keeping things going so they can blame the other side and get re-elected.
The unwritten rule of Congress: Protect the money; Protect the seat; Get re-elected. And that is what they do. That is what Diane did. That is what the rest of them are doing.
A bunch of old, out of touch people, showing signs of decline creating the smoke screen that they are doing something for us, the people.
In the Senate, they get elected and it is for six years. Six years where they don’t have to worry about getting fired or lay-offs or bills or health care costs or pretty much anything. Meanwhile, the rest of us, well, we deal with the day to day.
Am I bitching? Yup.
I just want you all to think about the next time you cast a vote for a Senator. Is this the type of person who deserves all that? Because once you send them to DC, THEY are going to become STUPID RICH while the rest of us enjoy the day to day issues that they said they would fix.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Be the person a stranger will do CPR on. Check in on each other and remember witches in school cannot go trick or treating if they get…EX-SPELLED! BWAHAHAHAHHAHA…It’s HALLOWEEN!
Peace
