A Bully Beat Down GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, Dallas Cowboys took a HUGE BEAT-DOWN Sunday night. Wow! After pushing around the Giants and Jets and Pats, the Cowboys took on a real team in Frisco…and Frisco beat them like an ugly step child! Hate to be in that locker room.
Monday Musings Ed-vise today cause it’s MONDAY! So GET AFTER IT!
Well folks, in an unexpected turn of events, Hamas decided this weekend would be a good weekend to set the world on edge…as if we needed more setting!
Over a thousand of Hamas “troops” launched an attack on the people of Israel. Lots of dead, lots of destruction and plenty of chaos going on. Add to that, it is expanding. Good Ol’ ‘Murica sent over an aircraft carrier group into the region to “help” if Israel needs it. I don’t think they do but it’s just nice to have “Big Brother” show up.
Why did they do this? Much like a classless break up…It’s Complicated. Like SUPER complicated and would take a ton of blogging to understand. And even then I might not get it all right and would end up pissing off the entire planet. Seriously.
I can give a bit on the players and the importance/ complications of global relations.
Hamas is the governing body of the Gaza strip. They are also a “terrorist organization” according to our state department.
Israel, of course, is Israel with a long and complicated history that is very much distorted by evangelicals here in Good Ol’ ‘Murica.
Iran supports Hamas…A LOT! Because they see the actions of the Israeli Government as oppressing their Muslim Brothers. Which, in my opinion, they do. If you recall Jim Crow era of US History (which they don’t teach in Florida)…very similar. Almost identical.
Russia gets a lot of stuff from Iran and Iran supports Russia. Why? Because both countries HATE Good Ol’ ‘Murica. Which probably means China is going to come in this fiasco as well.
Good Ol’ ‘Murica supports Israel A LOT. We give them BILLIONS (with a B) of dollars every single year. We GIVE them military stuff all the time. We have rules in many states that prohibit making bad comments about Israel or about boycotting Israel stuff. And we do this because of our “Christian” base that has this belief that we have to support Israel in all it does because that is the Holy Land where Jesus strolled and wondered around. Because Christians seem to vote in blocks, our politicians (both parties) work to appease them.
And so, the tangled web of Evangelicals, and global relations are once again on display for the world to condemn from afar and hope for level heads to intervene. What a time to be alive!
