What Would You Do Wednesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s WEDNESDAY! And I do love WEDNESDAYS!
The world sits on the edge of World War 3 and the disinformation campaign machines are running in overdrive!
I mean the claims that come out and become viral “truths” are everywhere. Being rebroadcast from the highest levels of government and press.
For instance, this thing in Gaza/ Israel. Started out with the attack from Hamas. Then, it came out that 40 babies were decapitated. 40. Decapitated.
Went around the world and was rebroadcast from damn near every news outlet. The same headline: Hamas decapitates 40 babies.
All the way to the president’s lips where he said “I never thought I would see pictures of decapitated babies.” Actual quote.
You want to get a group of people really fired up to fight any type of battle: broadcast that 40 of your babies were decapitated.
Then came a picture. Not of a headless baby but of a crib. The crib had blood in it. A pillow. A water bottle. Playing cards. That picture went around the world as proof positive the event did happen. And the world was on fire for revenge.
Israel wasn’t…and it was supposedly their babies.
Questions surfaced about the picture. Why would a baby have a regular water bottle in their crib? Why would a baby have such a big pillow in their crib? Why would a baby have playing cards in their crib? Where is the headless baby?
Another picture surfaced put forward by the nauseating Ben Shapiro. It showed a burned up body of what was supposedly a baby. Turns out…it was an AI generated image.
I’ll give you a bit of insight on the horrors of war. Parading around dead people is a big deal in the Middle East. It is a super symbolic thing. Showing graphic images of the people that were killed, also a big deal to do. The intent is to strike fear in the hearts of the enemy. It has been throughout history. Even Good Ol’ ‘Murican soldiers have done it. The killing of 40 babies by decapitation would have been photos taken and blasted all over social media. Trust me. The shit you see on social media…MAN…how could it NOT be posted?
Turns out, their was one person who told that lie about the decapitated babies. One. And he HATES the people of Palestine. Literally. He told a reporter then took a bunch of happy selfies and posted them on social media. After claiming to have seen such a gruesome site.
But, the lie was told. The bell was rung around the world.
It is a HUGE effort to try and unring the bell.
So, What Would You Do if you were confronted with such a statement?
Would you care for some Ed-vise? I thought you would.
First, consider the magnitude of the message. And then ask yourself: what would it take for something like that to happen?
Second, consider the logistics of such an event happening. Coordination of enough psycho killers to do such a thing is hard enough. Psycho killers don’t like to hang out together…usually…I think.
Third, seek proof. Like I said, an event like that would be all over the place with actual images. However, no actual, non AI images show up.
Don’t let the bell just ring. It can keep things from going beyond out of hand.
