Ed-vise: Free Speech

A friends funeral GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, went to a funeral this weekend. Rather a memorial service for a friend that I thought died a few years ago! I should really do a better job of keeping tabs on my friends.

Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So GET AFTER IT!

I’m noticing some really, I don’t know…dangerous…maybe, rhetoric coming from the conflict in Israel/Gaza.

The rhetoric is here in the states. Among many who claim to be “Constitutionalists.” As well as many who claim to believe in the premises of the Constitution (like me).

It has to do with being critical of the Israeli actions. Protesting those actions.

For instance, several groups that support the Palestinian people have been banned in Florida. Threatened in Harvard after a billionaire outed all the students associated with those groups.

Then, you have university donors pulling their money out of universities that criticize the Israeli Government actions.

It has reached a point that if you criticize the actions of the Israeli Government, you can end up branded an “anti-Semite” by the ACLU and by many in the Republican Party.

Understand, our “First Freedom” is the Freedom of Speech. Meaning us Good Ol’ ‘Muricans, can pretty much say whatever we want without worrying about our government coming after us. So when a politician like the “Turd Desantis” bans a group from protesting, THAT is a problem. That is the government coming after our First Freedom.

We, as ‘Muricans, should NOT be forced to support ANY government, one way or the other. If we don’t like them, we should be able to say so without fear of losing a job or being ostracized on some social media platform as being a bigot or a Nazi or whatever else.

After all, how does the world become a better place to live if we the people are NOT allowed to speak up and say something is wrong or something is right!

I’ll say this: to shut down any side of the conversation in the “Market Place of Ideas” is 100% wrong.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Be the person a stranger will do CPR on. Check in on each other and remember angry witches should not use their brooms. They will…FLY OFF THE HANDLE! BWAHAHAHHAHAHA…BOO!

Peace
