Ed-vise: Christmas Cheer!

A Christmas is coming GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, another Christmas. Yes, I said it: CHRISTMAS! A kick ass Pagan Holiday for the masses baby! Thank you Hallmark and thank you Macy’s. Without you this wouldn’t have happened.

What Would You Do Wednesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s WEDNESDAY! And I do love WEDNESDAYS!

The season is upon us. Which means friends and family will come together in peace and harmony to love one another and enjoy the Ohana spirit of togetherness.

NOT!

I’ll share a story with you that some of my many readers may have already heard.

One Christmas Eve I went over the hills and through the woods to my great grandmother’s house. The entire “Funny Farm” family was going to be there along with other cousins and uncles and aunts and such.

I walked up the walkway to the house. It was dark and I could see the lights on and what sounded like loving conversation and a bit of Christmas banter.

WRONG.

As I got close enough to smell the sweet smell of cinnamon and eggnog, the front door flew open and my aunt and grandma were coming out the door. My aunt was telling my grandma she was a bitch and my grandma was telling her she was a liar.

Back and forth it went for a few and then my aunt reached up and slapped my grandma. Then she stormed past me, got in her car and sped away. No hug. No “hello.” Nothing but my grandma with a bit of tear in her eye and a red hand print on her cheek.

As I stepped into the house, I could see my Great Grandma weeping in her chair while her grandchildren tried to console her.

What Would You Do if that were your welcome to Christmas Eve?

I did the only respectable and loving thing I could think to do.

I stepped into the middle of the living room where everyone was. Threw my hands in the air and with the biggest smile and loudest voice I yelled “MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!”

And the rest is history!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

That’s it for today and this year. Be the person a stranger will do CPR on. Check in on each other and remember why Frosty the Snowman took off his pants: he heard a SNOW-BLOWER COMING! BWAHAHAHHAHHAAHA…a dirty one for ya!

Peace
