Ed-vise: Appease Shareholders

A UW v. Michigan GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, National Championship Game tonight! I’m pulling for UW even though they have been instrumental in breaking up the Pac 12…dirty dogs that they are. Still, they are Pac 12 until they leave so if they win, Pac 12 is #1!

Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So…GET AFTER IT!

Boeing has issues…AGAIN…with their Max Jets.

This time it is the 9 version versus the 8 version.

And it was Alaska Airlines that, unfortunately, found the problem. Or, rather, the problem found them.

They lost a door plug during flight. A door plug is NOT a door. It is a plug where a door can go but, instead, is plugged. Hence “door plug.”

Now, if Boeing does not find a problem with the door plug, then it falls to Alaska Airlines to determine if their maintenance procedure was the cause. Alaska already did the look over and said “not our fault.” So, since they were first, the problem falls to Boeing.

Back in 2018-2019, Boeing got in trouble because their Max 8 jet crashed a couple times. Killed everyone on board. Remember? Indonesia Air and Ethiopia Air were the two air liners that had the problem spring up on them.

Whistle Blowers, at that time, said Boeing cut corners to appease shareholders. That is to make their stock seem like a better buy, Boeing cut corners on quality and safety.

Back in January of 2000, Alaska Airlines splashed a plane off the coast of California killing everyone onboard. Turns out their lack of maintenance on the planes was THE cause of the crash. The maintenance procedures that were happening at the time were, once again, trimmed down and minimized to appease shareholders.

Every single major disaster that happens from a publicly traded company happens because of a need to appease shareholders.

And, if you ask any shareholder, they will most likely say they never wanted that disaster, or any disaster, to occur.

If shareholders don’t want the disasters or deaths to occur, why do corporate executives allow things to take place that place the public in danger?

Because, if they don’t make the share value go up, they get fired. Then, they are replaced with someone who will make that shareholder value go up at whatever cost.

Now, on the Boeing Corporate Website, under the “Safety” tab, they have a little blurb that says “We value human life above all else, and our teammates take that personally…” Side thought: how do they balance that statement while being a big time member of the Military Industrial Complex…that profits by taking human life?

But I digress

Regarding the “Safety” thing. Once again, we will most likely find that “profit” was put ahead of “human life.” I will bet you that is what will be found. And, once again, we will see that, in all actuality, appeasing shareholders trumps that nice safety statement.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Be the person your dog thinks you are. Check in on each other and remember if you have cheese with no crackers, you are…CRAKA – LACKING! BWAHAHAHAHAHA…mmmm…cheese and crackers!

Peace
