Scenario this morning is based on the dangerous scenario posed by the DC Court of Appeals to the T-Rump lawyer arguing that T-Rump has/had Presidential Immunity from prosecution.
You have posted comments on social media or read the famous Ed-vise column and agreed with the commentary. You are now sitting in your home watching the latest episode of From. Door gets kicked in and there is SEAL Team 6 with orders from the President to shoot you on sight.
What Would You Do?
That specific scenario is a crime but the President would argue it’s within his executive function.
The current argument put forward by T-Rump’s lawyer is that the only way he could be prosecuted for a crime would be for the impeachment and removal process to be carried out in full. Then, and only then could the President be tried for a crime.
Does the scenario look familiar? It should. Look around globally and you will see that exact scenario being played out. Only SEAL Team 6 is not implicated. Doors being kicked in and political rivals executed or imprisoned.
Thing is, in my opinion, the T-Rump lawyers have CLEARLY not read ANY of the Federalist Papers, The Anti-Federalist Papers, or any of the other literature and history related to the founding of this government. In particular that firmly held belief that the President is NOT a king of any sort no matter what the MAGA crowd or Christian Evangelicals want to believe.
That office is and always has been an office that is answerable to the people. Any argument to the contrary is put forward by someone who clearly has not read history and is only subjecting themselves to repeat it. Shameful that a lawyer put forward such absurdity.
Still, because people do not participate enough in our government and elections, this very scenario, here in the US, IS a possibility.
So, make sure you VOTE…DAMMIT! And read your history. Otherwise, an evil king will get elected which will always end up with bad days ahead.
