A broken dog dish GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, dropped the dog dish last night. Newbie handed me the dish to hold while she filled up the others. I had too much in my hands and dropped it. Fortunately…she felt it was her fault. Good kid!
Free For All Friday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s FRIDAY! OPEN MAT; PIZZA NIGHT!
Davos.
Ever hear of it? No. You will now.
Davos is in Switzerland. Lovely (according to pictures) Switzerland.
It happens to be the location for the World Economic Forum.
Every year a bunch of super rich industrialists, government folks (so called World Leaders), and scientists all get together, look down through their be-speckled glasses and talk about all the problems of the world.
Then they return to their various places of origin and continue with being a really big part of all the problems of the world.
During the conference, there were 10 risks identified over the next two years. Along with an additional 10 for ten years in the future.
The two year risks were:
- Misinformation and disinformation;
- Extreme weather events;
- Societal polarization;
- Cyber insecurity;
- Interstate armed conflict;
- Lack of economic opportunity;
- Inflation;
- Involuntary migration;
- Economic downturn;
- Pollution;
At the same time this conference was going on, ALL of these things were happening right now to the average, everyday person in the world.
Whenever I look at something like this, this list of threats, as an everyday person, I can’t help but say “Ya FUCKIN THINK?!?!”
The super rich pointing out what people see EVERY DAMN DAY! We live it. Those who can afford to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland…they don’t have to live it. They get to avoid it. They insulate themselves with their fortunes.
And good for them. Seriously. Good for them.
Is there anything we can do about these threats? Yup. Totally believe it. We are humans who really don’t have another planet to run off to. So, WE need to figure it out.
The threats are real. And, they will become more of a problem if things are not done now.
What can you do? Great question.
First, tell your friends and family to subscribe to my blog here at Ed-vise. Yes, that is a shameless plug for my blog. I never promised it would be “ad free.”
Second, you (and me) must read more. Knowledge is power folks. Knowledge comes from reading. So, read.
Third, become curious as a child again. What I mean is ask questions. Just like you once did as a child. Ask questions until you get an answer that makes you do something. Then…DO IT!
My curiosity is with Artificial Intelligence (AI). What’s yours?
You can make a difference. Everyone can. It doesn’t take much. It just takes action.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Be the person your dog thinks you are. Check in on each other and remember there is no need to worry if you overdose on…ANXIETY MEDICATION! BWAHAHAHAHAA…but don’t do that.
Peace
