Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So…GET AFTER IT!
I was driving around town on Thursday. Lots of driving.
At one off ramp I saw the person standing there with the “Will Work for Food” sign.
Notice I didn’t refer to them as “homeless” or “houseless” or whatever. Reason being I don’t know if that person was, indeed, in that situation.
I noticed a couple drivers give some of the change from their ash tray to the person. Usually around Christmas time, the donations go up.
Then, it got me Musing. It got me thinking “what if.”
What if, instead of the sign with the standard verbiage of “Will Work for Food” the sign had a QR code. You know, the QR thing that appear everywhere. The box with black, random designs in it. You use your phone’s camera to look at it and it pops up a link for you to go to. Restaurants have them for menus and ordering. Very prevalent in the airports.
For my Musing, I thought if a person had a QR code on their sign, then a driver could scan the QR symbol and go to a website of the person’s making. Or, even a Venmo or Paypal account. You could directly deposit into that account any sum of money you choose. Almost like a Presidential donation.
The website could have a promo video of the skillset the person has that they are willing to exchange for food. Perhaps they are an artist or a carpenter. They could post pictures of their work and, perhaps, gain some employment for food.
Don’t have any change? No problem. I have Venmo. BAM…deposited!
What a benefit!
Here’s another that I was thinking of. Has to do with AI. Artificial Intelligence.
I am currently diving down that rabbit hole and it is AWESOME!
In my Musings I think that, in the near future…very near future, the AI will be able to generate a “YOU” for when you pass away.
Meaning the AI will take all of your videos and writings and blogs and web searches and social media postings and such. Compile them all together. Then, while you are alive, it will ask you a bunch of conversation type questions. Favorite color, likes, dislikes. Really get to know you. I am aware of an AI that is actually an emotionally intelligent AI called Pi.
Anyway, it will compile all that data and then, come up with the conversation that a person could have with you if you weren’t there.
So, like for my mom. She could have a conversation with Pops. Get his advise on stuff. Have him crack jokes at her expense. Be that annoying person to her that he was in life.
I could even have those conversations. Those conversations that I might have missed at some point.
Would it be spooky? Absolutely! Especially if it kicked on one night while you were sleeping. But, still, imagine being able to talk to just about any person who is no longer with us and picking their brain about things. MAN that would be COOOLLL!
Some say “technology is happening so fast.” I say “IT ISN’T HAPPENING FAST ENOUGH!”
I’m just saying
