A while back I wrote about how ‘Muricans would react if Good Ol’ ‘Murica were invaded by a foreign power. I’d give you the specific title but I can’t recall it and I have written way too many of these to know it off the top of my head.
What I pointed out was that, with the amount of lies and dis-information being pumped out to us, half of the ‘Muricas wouldn’t believe it was happening and would just do nothing or would actively work to help the invaders by withholding funds and resources.
Well, guess what? That scenario is actually playing out right now with these hurricanes in the southeast. Vicious and hateful lies being broadcast all over the airwaves. Just outright lies. It hurts my head.
The main source: T-Rump! T-Rump and his cult followers. And it is a cult. Straight up.
I don’t know which lie to address if any can be addressed. It isn’t like my addressing these lies will make a difference in the minds of the T-Rump cult members.
So, let me give a quick rundown on FEMA. Because jackasses on Faux News and the Trumplican party keep saying stupid shit about that money and where it goes.
In the spirit of Halloween, think of it like this.
Each federal entity is its own little Trick or Treater. They have their costumes and their little buckets. They go to a single house: Congress.
Each of those little Cherubs rings the doorbell and says “Trick or Treat!”
And Congress gives each one some candy in the form of money.
Now, just like any little kid that gets that candy…THEY DON’T SHARE WITH THE OTHER KIDS!
So, each kid has it’s candy. They do what they want with the candy but they don’t share that candy with other kids (federal entities).
FEMA was given it’s money by Congress. It spends that money on taking care of people in disasters. That’s it.
Department of Defense got it’s money and spends some of it on Ukraine.
DHS and ICE got it’s money and takes care of immigration issues.
Each department spends its money according to it’s mandate FROM CONGRESS. The departments DO NOT SHARE!
So the blatant lie going around that disaster money is being spent to house immigrants or being spent in Ukraine is wrong. Wrong wrong wrong.
FEMA money might be spent on helping an immigrant from Ukraine caught in a disaster. Only if they are ‘Murican! They gotta have a social security number to get those FEMA Aid dollars.
This is one of the many lies being puked out. Not only puked out but ate up by Trumplicans. At times it is just heartbreaking.
Obama last night posed a question to the Trumplicans: when did it become OK to just outright lie about situations like this?
I don’t know. Then again, I’m not a Trumplican.
