Ed-vise: Stalking Horse

A Cleveland Won! GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, a snowy Thursday Night Football showed Cleveland CAN win a game! Snow probably was the reason cause I wouldn’t want to play in that and I played in ALASKA!

Free For All Friday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s FRIDAY! OPEN MAT; PIZZA NIGHT!

A couple things this morning: A rant, then a point.

The rant.

WTF is with all the people getting outed for sex crimes?!?! Both in Oregon and in t-Rumps picks for his cabinet.

In Oregon there was a fire captain busted for soliciting a minor. Follow that up with a retired police chief in Portland busted for trafficking! I am just perplexed as to…whatever questions I have. I mean I can’t even put together a question to even attempt to comprehend such things.

Then, on the national stage, you have the picks t-Rump put forward for various cabinet positions where just about ALL of them have some sexual assault or other crime being brought up. Notice I didn’t limit it to the male picks because his pick for Education Secretary, Linda McMahon, is ALSO being investigated for her husband, Vince, sexual crimes related to the WWF/WWE! That being she quite possibly was a co-conspirator.

I mean, Pops, would be rolling over in his urn knowing his boy t-Rump picked these people.

End of rant…now to the point.

It begs the question of “why?”

Why would t-Rump pick such unsavory people with so many skeletons in the closets? Putting senators in the position of further twisting themselves into knots to support these picks.

Well, it’s actually an old game, rather, tactic referred to as a “Stalking Horse.”

I know, I can hear my faithful readers now: “Holy Shit, Ed! Why would you know that?!?!”

Because, as Tyrion Lannister once said: “I drink, and I know things.” (love that line).

A Stalking Horse, goes way back. Centuries. It is literally putting forward a weak something or other (like a candidate) with the intent that the weak something will be rejected to allow for the stronger something to win out.

It was originally from medieval hunting where hunters would use their horse to sneak up on prey. The prey wouldn’t think anything of it and BAM! Dinner is served.

It’s not like the Wolf in Sheep’s Clothes because there, the person in the clothes KNOWS they are going to do something bad. With the Stalking Horse, they usually don’t know the hidden reason.

With t-Rump, I think he is putting forward these Stalking Horses knowing full well that they will be rejected outright. Like Gaetz, even before they go to confirmation hearing.

What doing this does is a few things.

First, it makes his allies feel appreciated. He offers them up and leaves it to them to get shot down. Which they do and will.

Second, it exposes the true nature of the various people in the senate who will confirm or deny such candidates. Basically shows their “hand” before it really matters.

Third, it exhausts the public. Meaning it is SO much controversy surrounding someone that the next person put forward seems like a saint in comparison. Meaning he puts forward a child rapist first. Then, the white collar criminal put forward next doesn’t seem quite so bad.

Trust me when I say these parties we have KNOW it is all a game. 100% a game. If you know the rules and the strategies and tactics, the game becomes more apparent. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Be the person your dog thinks you are. Check in on each other and remember cabinet makers are criminals. They always…COUNTER FIT! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!…that’s good

Peace
