Ed-vise Episode 110

Good morning! GOOD morning! GOOD MORNING!!! to you all!!! Tough night sleeping last night. Like when you wake up and your mind just starts singing songs to let you know you’re awake!

Today’s bit o trivia: Ibn Battuta. Ibn in Arabic means “son of.” But that’s a side bar. Battuta was a Muslim scholar/ traveler. See, back in the day (1300s) a person didn’t need a passport or job or, well much other than a hanckerin to go somewhere. And that is what he did. Woke up one day, told the wife and kids he was going out for a ride…and never came back (name that tune). Well, in his travels he ended up in Mali. Liked some of it. Especially how the kids were forced to memorize the Quran. Didn’t like the way the women dressed (or did not for that matter). I heard he stayed in a tent for his entire time there… but seems his arrogance got him an apartment. See what happens when you threaten to bully someone on twitter?

Anyway…

Think About it Thursday Ed-vise today

Meyers Leonard of the Miami Heat kind of made me recall a phrase that was brought about in (wait for it…) a podcast I listened to this past week. First, a little back history…of course.

See, Meyers was playing Call of Duty (ironically). He was also live streaming his game play. Something happened and he shouted out an anti-jewish statement. I have not seen the video of it. Needless to say, it has resulted in a ton of backlash.

Which brings me to the phrase uttered by veterans especially World War 2 type: Never Forget. It is a statement not really meant for us to not forget war. War sucks. Pretty easy to remember that.

What really needs remembered is that people can be the cruelest creatures on the face of the earth no matter who they are…So NEVER FORGET THAT! I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember that seagulls that fly over a bay are reclassified as BAY-GULLS!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA…SNOOOORRRRT!!!

Peace
