A warm GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Great run this morning. Now I will need to kick it up a lap next week.
Today’s bit o trivia: Gail Borden. Who? Gail Borden! Inventor back in the 1800s. The inventor of meat biscuits. Also a relative of the famous Lizzie Borden (ooooohhhh). As you walk down the baking aisle in your local grocery store, you look and see those reddish cans with the cow face on it for condensed milk. Well, Mr. Borden was on a ship that had a couple cows. Ships back in 1851 carried the cows so the passengers could have fresh milk. Well those cows got sick and a couple kids died along with the cows because of whatever infection. Borden thought “I bet I can do a process where milk can be sweet and stored for a long period of time.” Well maybe not exactly that but that’s what he did. Became richer than God himself setting up factories in New York and Texas. “Better than bitcoins” he said back in 1856.

As you all know, I watch the news. Fake and real (I think) news. I read long articles because click bait is annoying. I avoid reading any article that says “so and so trashes or goes off on or blasts” whatever other person or thing.
I’ve been seeing a lot of people that you can say are a bit of COVID deniers, going on about the hospitals lying about the number of deaths related to COVID. Saying to the effect that hospitals are reporting any death as COVID related.
Allow myself to point out a bit of what could be a training issue and what could be a simple fatigue issue.
See, on a death certificate, there is a block for writing in all the reasons this person died. In Oregon, the appropriate people have 48 hours to accurately determine cause of death and sign off on the certificate. So, they have to be accurate and timely.
COVID is a respiratory disease. The infection that COVID brings causes problems in the lungs. That causes problems in the blood. Which causes problems in the heart and other organs. It’s called a “Cascading Affect.” A series of organ failures all of which can be the cause of death.
So, when you see a death certificate that has all of the system failures listed, that is a person that is experienced and trained in filling out the certificate correctly. If it just says COVID, that is a person that might not have the necessary experience and not know how to fill it out correctly. OR… maybe they had a truckload full of dead bodies all dead from a chain of failures that was started by COVID and was to damn tired to write all the organ failures. So get vaccinated and wear your mask! I’m just saying
