A couldn’t sleep last night GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup. For whatever reason I could not get to sleep until early early this morning. Still, I feel rested…weird.
Free For All Friday Ed-vise today! Yup…IT’S FRIDAY PIZZA NIGHT AND OPEN MAT!
Practice people, practice.
Last night rolling at no-gi jitsu got me thinking on practice. Why? Because I thought my practice was going really well until a brown belt smashed me without mercy. But that’s a different story.
When it comes to jits, the more time you spend on the mat, the better you get. If you limit yourself to the social aspect of once or twice a week, your social game will improve because you meet new people and stay in touch. That’s fine.
Three nights (or days), consistently, your conditioning improves.
Four or more and your entire game improves. Noticeably and in a relative short amount of time. Why? Because the neural pathways are constructing what they need to build. Your coordination, strength and conditioning are coming together. And, your social game is improving because you are now a familiar face.
Same goes in pretty much any arena you participate in. Want to be a good lawyer? Practice. Doctor? Practice (they do have a license to practice). Father? Practice. Practice, practice, practice.
Life is about actively participating. You want to get good at something you must practice. Lucky opportunities do happen once in a while. Consistent practice makes those opportunities happen, well, consistently. I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember to ROOT FOR OREGON STATE BASEBALL (and the Ducks but not as much as the Beavers)!!!
