Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So get after it!
I gotta say I am at a bit of a loss these days with the Party of my Father (Republican).
As everyone knows, Russia/ Putin has a bunch of troops sitting at the border of Ukraine. Doing drills and war games. Putting pressure on the Ukraine government for whatever reasons. The world is supposedly on edge. If you read the headlines, Russia is invading at any moment. Depending on your news outlet, there will be around several billion killed or more. Maybe even the Zombie Apocalypse or whatever worse the news can think up to get you to click on their headline.
What amazes me is the number of Republican Pukes that do not support the President as he attempts to bring this under control and avoid really big problems.
It was Ronald Reagan that brought down the former Soviet Union. He (Reagan) used to be the face of the party. He worked with both parties to do it.
From what I remember, when it came to foreign country negotiations and issues, it was a relatively united front all the way up to Obama and Iran. And that was because the “Republican Party” hated Obama. And now, they have become outright sympathetic to Mr. Putin and condemn our own President’s actions toward Russia.
And that is what has me at a loss.
I don’t understand how the party went from supporting the downfall of an adversary such as the USSR…to supporting them in hostile overtures towards another country. Another country that RELIED on the deal made by a REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT! That deal, made by Bush Sr. was to take the nukes from Ukraine with a promise of protection. Now, the Republicans want to back out of that protection.
I think Putin has a bigger plan and that plan involves exploiting the political divide created by the two political parties. Putin, is no fool. He knows what to do and how to do it and he knows there are plenty of Good Ol’ ‘Muricans that are easily manipulated by any lie that Putin can put forward. And, when you are “Of the Party, by the Party, and For the Party” you don’t give a DAMN about the rest of the nation. You only care about your insider stock trades and getting rich.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember if you want a happy marriage, stay away from potatoes that have a sticker that says “IDAHO.” Those are HOOKERS! BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! And that comes from a man who has been married to my best friend for 24 YEARS! Love you babe!
