Ed-vise: Air Force Plan

A muggy GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, muggy this morning. No big though. It actually felt kinda nice. Bit of rain came through last night to help with the fires…hopefully. Definitely took care of some of the smoke.

Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So GET AFTER IT!

In case you missed you, yesterday was 9/11.

Been twenty one years now since the terrorist act that changed the course of Good Ol’ ‘Murica. Opened the eyes of many to what goes on in the world.

Before that happened, several years before, the Pentagon posed a question to it’s “Thinkers.” The question was along the lines of what to do if there is an attack on the US from within. Spontaneous, almost.

Each of the different branches had to come up with a response.

Pops was in the Air Force at the time. He was a part of that project to come up with a solution.

The Air Force solution was tell the FAA to land ALL planes except for a select few. Any planes that did not comply were to be shot down by Air Force fighters and surface to air missiles…without hesitation.

The select few aircraft were the President and Vice President planes, fighter jets, a few AWACS (big plane with a radar on top). When the event triggered, the plan went off without a hitch. President was picked up and rushed to his plane. VP put on his plane. Fighters scrambled, AWACS were already up and the word went out: LAND AT THE NEAREST RUNWAY!

Apparently everyone got the message because everyone landed. The other part of the plan was to shut down the incoming air-traffic. So, within minutes, all aircraft were told to leave US airspace or be shot down.

Well, nobody was shot down.

There was criticism of the Air Force for not detecting the four hijacked planes. But, that criticism came from people who simply did not understand the Air Force. See, the Air Force is set up to detect threats coming from the outside into the US. Not for detecting threats coming from within.

So, in a round-about way, you all already knew about my Pops. Well, at least in a sense you knew his work. Small world isn’t it…

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember teens only walk in odd numbered groups because they…LITERALLY CAN’T EVEN! HAHAHAHHAHHA…smart asses!

Peace
