Wells Fargo…what a shit bank.
Just received a 3.7 BILLION dollar fine from the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau.
Why? Because Wells Fargo Sucks!
A few years ago, the bank came to light about opening up fake bank accounts in real people’s names. That got them a hefty fine and Congress faking like they were pissed and having hearings. Oh my! Heaven forbid there be a hearing.
Well, this recent big fine came because the bank, KNOWINGLY, would charge illegal fees for overdrafts, refuse to restructure mortgages to avoid foreclosures (illegally), and not do what they were supposed to do with car loans resulting in people losing their cars…just to name a few.
Here’s the thing though. Those activities have been happening for YEARS. It wasn’t a recent event. Technically Speaking it has been an ongoing nightmare created by a supposed “Trusted” banking institution.
At least since 2016.
People, like you and me, have been harmed by this bank…INTENTIONALLY! People lost their homes, their cars, their credit. And Wells Fargo gets a fine. AGAIN.
Now, supposedly, the fine also includes paying back the people that were harmed. I just don’t see how any amount of money is going to heal the damage that these people were caused by such an institution. Just the INTENTIONAL infliction of emotion and mental distress alone couldn’t possibly be made whole by a dollar amount.
And Wells Fargo will continue to operate because people will keep their money with such a dirt bag bank.
