Ed-vise: Taxes

A coooollllldddd GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, it’s COLD! Cold, cold, cold, cold. And in the Parts East of here, it’s gonna get COLDER! Look folks, any temp below freezing (32F) is showing off. Nothing more.

Think About it Thursday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s THURSDAY! Time to THINK!

Pops used to always tell me that the game of paying taxes should be a zero sum game.

Meaning that at the end of the year, when you are done filling out the tax form (again) you shouldn’t have to pay additional taxes NOR should you receive a refund. The end result should be “ZERO.”

That was his firm belief and he worked hard to make sure it was a big fat goose egg at the end of the year.

Yesterday (or the day before) the big headline was “T-Rump didn’t pay federal income taxes.” There was also the hype about Congress releasing the mysterious taxes to the public. Recall that T-Rump spent his four plus years lying about being audited and all that other crap.

Now, there are questions on the taxes. I completely agree. After all, the Party of my Fathers has been putting forward some MASSIVELY lying candidates and spreading the worst lies a person can think of.

Despite the question about his write offs, if he didn’t pay federal income tax, GOOD FOR HIM! I can’t get pissed off at him for that. I mean, Think About It. HE DID NOT PREPARE THE TAXES! His accountant did.

Paying zero taxes…that is an accountants JOB! They are supposed to help you navigate the complex tax codes and issues in order to avoid paying a large tax bill.

Unfortunately, for us smaller tax payer types, you know, the “Average Jane and Joe” our accountants probably don’t really give a shit and just plug our numbers into tax form software that we can buy on our own. Then they spit out a number that we probably already knew we would have to pay and then charge a fee for it. Oh well.

But, for the tax payers that have large portfolios and such, the accountant does the stuff to make sure their client pays the least amount in taxes to the government. I don’t have a problem with this SO LONG AS, they are doing it legal and not hiding money off shore.

The thing to look at, if you choose to look at T-Rumps taxes (I probably won’t), is how much the accountant charged T-Rump for their work. I bet it was a pretty penny!

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember what reindeer hang on the Christmas Tree…HORN-AMENTS! HAHAHAHHAHAHAA…that’s Funny!

Peace
