So, the FBI caught the alleged “leaker” of the Pentagon documents regarding the US spying on other nations and allies.
Remember what I wrote about Congress wanting to ban TikTok because they are so spooked about China spying on us? I pointed out that we, Good Ol’ ‘Murica, does it all the time. Well, this is what I am talking about.
Here’s another little secret for you’se guys: (lean in; listen)…(look around to see if someone is watching)…our allies do it to us as well as our “enemies.”

Yup, if the country has the resources, they will spy on each other like it’s nobodies business. You wanna know who is probably the most guilty (if you can call it “guilty”): I say Israel.
Israel spies on the whole damn world.
But I digress
Back to our “leaker.”
Now, the good thing, is the FBI caught this little leaker guy. A 21 year old Air Guardsman with a security clearance who posted on Discord because he wanted to feel important.
FBI found out about him pretty quick all things considered…once it went public.
Compare that with the Supreme Court leak of the opinion that overturned Roe. No why the FBI hasn’t found anyone there? It’s not a crime to leak a Supreme Court opinion. It’s a crime to leak classified documents. HUGE DIFFERENCE!
Here’s the thing though. That 21 year old airman was “leaking” documents for a while. It wasn’t until the press got hold of it that the FBI took him in.
My two cents on this, my Ed-vise on this, I don’t think he was “leaking” anything. Or, at least anything important.
Yes, he potentially exposed a security issue with the handling and access of certain documents. But, was it actually “devastating?” not really.
Our allies and enemies know we spy on them all the time. We know our allies and enemies spy on us all the time. Plus, these documents seem like opinion pieces rather than actual actionable intel. Basically saying things that people probably already know if they pay attention to such things.
My point is this: when a low level troop gets popped for something like this, it’s usually a much smaller issue than it’s made out to be. So don’t lose your mind and hide in the Nuclear Fallout Shelter just yet. Be worried when it’s a civilian contractor that gets busted for leaking. THEY leak the really dangerous stuff.
