A beautiful morning drive GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, trip down to company HQ for some all day training had me seeing a beautiful morning. Big hot air balloons floating around made for quite the scene.
Technically Talking Tuesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s TUESDAY…Technically!
Gonna talk some Chick Fil A this morning because, well, they make a mean chicken sandwich!
They been taking some UN-EDUCATED heat from those who were once strong allies of the company. Who are those allies you ask? Unfortunately, they are the “God Fearing” evangelical hypocrites. I need to come up with a cool nickname for them.
Bit of history for you my lovely readers.
Chick Fil A was founded out of Georgia. The state. Not the country.
If you have never been to Georgia, I can tell you that those are some God Fearing people. The Southern Baptist Church is deep in that neck of the woods. Back in the Civil War, General Sherman did a casual stroll from Atlanta to Savannah along with thousands of his closest, military, Union, friends. They burned EVERYTHING they came across including the city of Atlanta.
Legend has it that the City of Savannah saved itself because the people met Sherman’s army with a huge dinner of fried chicken and lemonade along with key lime pies and such.
I will say this: if you have never been to Georgia (the state), GO! It really is a beautiful place with a rich history. Despite the kudzu.
So, Chick Fil A was founded in the backyard of the Southern Baptist Church. The person that founded it (S. Truett Cathy) was a devout Christian. He died in 2014. Truett’s whole family are devout Christians. They make no bones about it.
In a 2007 and 2012, S. and his son, Dan, were interviewed about their positions on Gay Marriage. Both said they were against it.
I remember those interviews as we were living in LA around that time. In my opinion, the press made a much bigger deal about it than it was. I mean the whole world knew Chick Fil A’s opinion on the matter. Yes, the evangelicals turned out in support of Chick but the Gay community still bought chicken sandwiches. Why? Because it’s a good sandwich.
Fast forward a few years after Daddy Truett passed away and we learn that Dan (the son) apologized and said he was wrong in such an opinion.
Fast forward, again, to recent events and we see Chick Fil A doing it’s part to elevate marginalized people. And the once supportive evangelicals are losing their minds! They make the bold statement that Chick Fil A is NOT a Christian company.
Wow!
I say Chick Fil A is THE most Christian company. Even more Christian than ANY church in ‘Murica. For one, simple reason and ONE reason only: they honor the sabbath and keep it holy! That is, ALL of their stores are closed on SUNDAY!
A true example of honoring the 10 Commandments.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Be the person a stranger will do CPR on. Check in on each other and remember if you build a website for orphan’s it won’t have a…HOME PAGE! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA…that’s mean…but funny!
Peace
