A spilled my coffee GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, yesterday I spilled my coffee on my work desk. I’d say it was a bad start to a day but I had just got off the phone with #1 Son, so it wasn’t a bad start…just a poor SECOND PLACE.

Not because it’s Ground Hog Day either.
It was today that the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed back in 1848.
“Why is that a big deal” you ask…I’ll tell you.
It gave us, Good Ol’ ‘Murica…(drum roll)…TEXAS! God bless TEXAS!
Yup, we had a war going on for a few years back then with Mexico. Once it ended with us winning, the border of ‘Murica and Mexico was established at the Rio Grande. Also the Gila River but nobody cares about that river. Not only Texas but also the whole Southwestern region became ‘Murica’s.
Interesting thing is that the generals that fought for ‘Murica back then would later split up to fight each other in the Civil War. Once war buddies would become war enemies.
Along those lines, after the treaty which was signed in 1848, giving us Texas, on 1 FEB 1861, in a show of gratitude to the rest of the nation that sacrificed for Texas to become part of These Here U-Nited States, they decided to join the League of Confederate Traitors, and succeed. Thirteen years after coming into ‘Murica.
Thus, more proof that Texas has always been a pain in ‘Murica’s Ass! God bless Texas!
