Top Tier GOOD MORNING! to you my loyal fan readers and seekers of knowledge!!! Another episode of Ed-vise!
Today’s bit o trivia: The Volstead Act. OK, I don’t care what your political affiliation is, Republicans passed this. It will forever hang around their heads. See, back in the late 1800s, there came into being a temperance movement. That was about prohibiting drinking. Why? Because the “Do Gooders” believed it was God’s mission for them to stamp out any sort of vices. Very much like modern day Saudi Arabia and other Gulf States. Well, in 1919, this act was passed over the veto of Woodrow Wilson. And then the mob bosses became legends… doing God’s work HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Anyway…
What Would You Do Wednesday Ed-vise today
Times are tense these days as you probably know. If you don’t, you need to pay attention. Body can’t go where the mind hasn’t gone so lets take the mind on a little trip and figure out what to do… Shall we?
You’re standing at a gas pump filling up your tank. You stand their, like most humans, and thumb through your social media…whatever. You look up as another car pulls in. The person gets out, swipes the card, puts the nozzle in the tank and starts to fill it up.
You look see in the rear window a little girl. She looks up at you and you notice she has been crying. She makes eye contact with you and you notice that she is mouthing the word “HELP.”
Happens all the time people. How often do you see an Amber Alert go out or light up your phone? Put yourself in the situation where you…YOU, are looking right at the child/ children and they are asking YOU for help.
You have a couple choices. One, you can confront the driver and ask if everything is OK. Two, you can ask the child directly although this might gain some negative attention from the driver. You can differ it to the attendant. You can ignore it and go back to your scrolling (selfish).
For me, make a strong note of the car. Trust me when I say that the emotions you are feeling right now will burn the make and model of the car into your memory. Then, make a note of the license plate. Take a pics if you can. The amount of video I see on Instagrm tells me you can take a ton of it without making a huge scene. Remember: DON’T PANIC! You know what to do. When the driver, or you, pulls away, call 911 and tell them what you have seen. Then, take direction from them. If you try to physically intervene in this situation, you will have more on your hands than you probably know how to deal with. I’m just sayin
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember that writing yourself in for President does not waste your vote… It provides feedback to the two ruling parties!
Peace
