Ed-vise Episode 46

Another COOOLLLLDDD Good Morning to you all on this post-Veteran’s Day…Day!

Today’s bit o trivia: Cnut the Great. King Canute to his friends. Bet you’ve never heard of this guy before. Well, if he were ruling over what he ruled over back then, he would have one very well off nation. The incomes from Norway, Denmark, and England along with some of Sweden would rest in his pockets. See, he was born in 990. When he was 26 he became King of England; at 28 Denmark; and at 38; Norway and a bit of Sweden. He held the title of King of All England and Denmark and the Norwegians and Some of the Swedes. That’s a bit of a humble title. And to think we only have a President of the United States. Hmmm

Anyway…

Think About it Thursday Ed-vise today

Veteran’s Day has come and gone once again. I enjoyed a day off in the middle of the week to work more on my coffee table (still not done). Some family came up and stayed the night which was way cool as I don’t see my family near enough.

Throughout the day I would receive text messages from friends thanking me for my service just as many of you probably did as well or sent. Then, I started noticing on TV and some texts/ writings where they would say “Happy Veteran’s Day.” Interesting.

Think about what it takes to become a veteran. To become a veteran, well, sad to say, you have to have served in the military during combat operations. Notice I didn’t say war because our congress doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude or know how to declare a war…but I digress.

See, war/ combat operations, are caused by old men dreaming up ways for young people to die. It was George Mcgovern who said “I am fed up to the ears with old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in” and I firmly agree with that statement.

It costs a lot to become a veteran. It’s definitely not a happy thing to become one. It’s the byproduct of a dream that an old man thought up to get young people killed. I’m just sayin

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember a key with legs that cannot open doors is a turkey!

Peace
