A post graduation of my son GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, my boy graduated! High school that is.
Now, he is off to Texas. To learn to be an air craft mechanic.
Why Texas? I don’t know, really. He tells me why. Good school, lots of land, home prices (I think). Yet, I never feel like a definite answer is given.
Texas, from Oregon, is a long way away.
No friends; no family. Not even moving into a dorm at the college.
He hasn’t given me a straight answer, so I will give him one…here.
He is going to Texas because it is HIS adventure…NOT MINE!
The story of my life is mine. The story of his, is his. Too often I see parents that impose limits on their children in an effort to continue their story and NOT their child’s story.
TD Jakes said to “Pass the Mic.” I don’t agree with that.
As parents, it is our job to teach our children how to USE the mic. Then, give them A mic, not YOUR mic. Let them go on THEIR adventure! Support them the best you can. Advise them when THEY ASK, NOT WHEN YOU THINK YOU SHOULD!
Great stories and adventures are to be had. Let them have it! I love you, son. As is Loki, I hope the same for you: May you be burdened with GLORIOUS PURPOSE!
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember a dog that is a magician is called a LABRACADABRADOR! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Peace
