I am critical of the university system here in good ol ‘Merica. It pisses me off to no end that the biggest thing you learn is HOW TO RACK UP LARGE AMOUNTS OF DEBT! Not so much how to pay it all off.
I have said to many friends “college is not for everyone.” I have said the same thing to many students looking to go to college. I have even said this to my own family.
Everyone, who can read, can learn ANYTHING! Literally ANYTHING! And you do not need to go to college to do so.
For instance. There is a degree you can rack up a ton of debt. It’s called a Degree in Business. DA FAWK!
Want to know more about business than ANY 4-year degree? Start a lemonade stand. Seriously. Start a lemonade stand or start a landscaping business. Basically, start a business. By starting your own small business, you will earn a PhD level education in a shorter amount of time than a 4-year degree AND have accumulated less debt!
Think About It. Think about the degree you are getting. Ask yourself the purpose of the degree. More importantly ask yourself this: Am I pursuing a degree because I want to please someone other than me, OR am I seeking the knowledge? If it’s knowledge you are after, great! If it’s to please someone, well, you’re a sucker! It takes one to know one. I’m just saying
