Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Because it’s MONDAY and I’m GOING TO THE OFFICE TODAY!
Another Olympics in the books.
US did well, China also. A bit of cheating (which makes for good Olympics). Feel good stories; feel bad stories and, of course, the losers that try to compare Simone Biles with Kerri Strug.
And then there is the US Olympic Basketball team that got the gold medal with a victory over France.
That did not sit well with me. I think the US should have to play France a third time.
See, if you recall, France beat the US in their first meeting, 83 – 76. Second meeting US won 87 – 82…and wins gold.
Prior to the gold medal game, France was undefeated. US had one loss…to France.
I don’t care about the group thing. That just determines who goes into the bracket. Quite frankly, I think if you lose in the group, you don’t get to go to the bracket. But, US managed to get into the bracket (probably because if they didn’t nobody would watch the basketball event).
They should play a second time. Because of the record (France being undefeated) and because France beat the US by a larger margin. Otherwise, I don’t think the US Basketball Gold is legitimate!
