A DODGERS WIN! GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, pulled off the 100+ year, rivalry victory of the Giants! GO DODGERS!!!
Free For All Friday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s FRIDAY PIZZA NIGHT! and open mat. Though I will miss these tonight because of a Haunted Pub Crawl this evening!
I don’t know about you, but I watch Survivor.
I love the show. I think it should be more like Squid Game, but, I will take what it is. I even tried out for the show. Got a speeding ticket on the way thanks to my spousal support unit (avid reader and fan of this blog…Thanks Sexy Butt).
This past episode saw an interaction between a college age player and a professed pastor. I’ll call them “College” and “Pastor.” Pretty original…no?
College had an advantage. An extra vote. He found it.
Before tribal council, Pastor managed to talk College out of that advantage. Pastor led College to believe he was safe, and would not get voted out. However, Pastor knew College was the target. Or at least agreed to back door College after receiving the advantage.
Pastor, in private interviews made known that she is sneaky. Even had a little theme song she liked to hum.
Well, long story short, they back doored College.
And I have a problem with this.
See, on these live-ish reality shows, players seem to forget that they do have a life to go back to. If they don’t win, it’s back to the grind-stone.
I don’t know if Pastor has a congregation. I haven’t looked that up and even if she did, I would not disclose the church.
Pastor’s have a higher calling. They must live by a higher set of rules if they want to be true to their calling. God set out those rules and one of them is “No Lying.” Another is “No Stealing.” Another is “No Coveting.” That one incident has three of ten Pastor Rules broken.
Sure, we can say “Well, it’s just a game.” Absolutely it is just a game. However, there are times when we reveal our true selves. For some it is on social media. Others in the heat of combat; some when drunk; four year olds it is when they are with their parents. And sometimes it is when in the heat of competition…such as in a game.
A pastor’s life is not a 9 – 5 thing. It is through to the bone. An all encompassing calling to speak the word of God. To live a life as close to “Sin Free” as possible. Fortunately, through the Savior, Jesus Christ, Pastor can be forgiven.
For me, if I was voted out like that, I would have said “Well, the closer we are to God, the further we fall.”
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember you do NOT want to be scared half to death…TWICE! HAHAHAHAHAHA…BOOO!!!
Peace
