A cranberry GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, my Newbie just came in and gave me a dried cranberry as I type up this morning’s Ed-vise. Sometimes a simple act forgives all sins.
Talkin Tuesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s TUESDAY…and I’m Talkin’!
Ask yourself this: If you are outraged by Aaron Rodgers’ conduct regarding the vaccine, why?
Outrage is easy to come by these days. Don’t believe me? Just go to an Evangelical Church or watch highlights of the Conservative Party Conference 2021 and you will easily find it. Better yet, go to your local school board meeting and where a BLM Mask. People’s heads will explode.
But I digress.
Aaron Rodgers. Why do you (my faithful and loyal readers and seekers of knowledge) have outrage towards his conduct?
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar posted his rage in his newsletter Substack. Pointed out that Rodgers lied to his fans and the public. Side note: I think Kareem reads my blog. Kareem also brought out that Rodgers added fuel to fire of division by advocating the way he did (alternatives and Joe Rogan). Totally legitimate outrage. Also, something near and dear to Kareem is the stereotype of athletes being “dumb jocks.” I think that really hit the mark with Kareem.
I want you to notice something about Kareem’s statements. “Rodgers lied to the public and his fans.” Notice Kareem did not say “team.” Rodgers did put his teams win/loss record at stake by his conduct. However, I will bet you that the Packer Organization knew that Rodgers did not receive the vaccine. If that organization is being 100% honest, they knew and they know of others probably doing the same thing. Furthermore, I bet other teams have the SAME dirty little secret going on.
My point is don’t let someone else dictate your outrage. Outrage comes from something personal. A deeply felt whatever that triggers your Anger Emotion (from the Pixar movie). Mob outrage is dangerous and leads to people causing violence and people getting hurt. Mob outrage is what you are seeing in clickbait headlines and tweets about Rodgers’ conduct.
So, before referencing Rodgers as a “dumb son of a whatever” take a minute. Join the other great minds that I think read my blog (Supreme Court, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the names are countless) and come up with the source of your outrage. You will be a better person for it and create the notion that you are the smartest person in the room. Or, at least the illusion.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember wasps don’t pollinate because God went with PLAN BEE! Get it? HAHAHAHAHAHA…another one from College!
Peace
