A finally home GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, finally made it back to Oregon and back to the family I love! MAN is it good to be home!
What Would You Do Wednesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s WEDNESDAY! And I do love WEDNESDAYS.
Actually, gonna give a bit of an update on my Pops.
I was able to get to mom and dad’s place this past weekend. Even if just for some hours, it was great to see Pops.
Looks like he had what they call a “mini-stroke” at some point over the weekend before I arrived. Reason we say that is because his speech had digressed from what it was just the weekend before and he had almost no grip strength in his right hand.
According to the Mayo Clinic’s website, it is called a Transient Ischemic Attack or TIA for short. Fortunately, according to Mr. Mayo, the effects are temporary. We shall see.
I will say this though: NEVER in all my years had I seen more joy on my dad’s face when he saw me come in! And I do mean NEVER! The smile and joy was literally shocking to me. Add to that it was pretty cool. Don’t get me wrong, when I show up to whatever, most people treat me like a rock star with all the yelling and screaming. Well, maybe not MOST but DEFINETLY my Newbie and DEFINETLY my older two…when they were Newbie’s age.
But dad…NEVER.
My Pops has had many times when he was proud of me. He just was really good at keeping a poker face. Probably some dumb German trait or whatever. His dad was that way too. Although there were times when Grandad’s face would light up…especially when my sister would come around.
Still, to see that look of joy on Pop’s face when he saw me…that made the whole trip worth it!
