Technically Talking Tuesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s TUESDAY…Technically!
Yesterday I blogged about Elon Musk. Spousal Support Unit commented to me that she did not know I disliked Musk.
Fair statement. I mean the blog did have a negative slant toward Musk especially along the lines of taking care of his employees.
Technically I don’t dislike Musk. I find his thinking on technologies, especially with respect to batteries, extremely admirable and cutting edge. However, he is the face of Tesla. The face of his company. And, based on opinions from various sources, Musk is a hard person to work for.
If you dive into the history of “great minds” you will find that many of them were assholes.
Edison, he liked to abuse animals and people. He would electrocute animals for fun and let Nikola Tesla know that once he became ‘Murican, Tesla would appreciate ‘Murican work.
William Shockley who was instrumental in Silicone Valley, sniveled and complained his way to a Nobel Prize for an invention that HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH! His TEAM built the semi-conductor which he failed to do.
And who can forget Steve Jobs. Great idea for Apple computers and Iphone stuff. But he was an emotional cry baby who ended up getting fired FROM HIS OWN COMPANY by the board because he was such an ass.
Sometimes, “genius” type people forget about the HUMANS in their lives. The HUMANS who do the heavy lifting of a company. They FORGET that the workers are NOT commodities to be used up and thrown away. And, they FORGET that these same people can wreck havoc on any size company.
So, for the “genius” in all of us…take care of your people.
