A sore muscles GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, feeling the workouts this morning! Did some different stuff at jits so the muscles are building up some “memory.” Still hurts though!
What Would You Do Wednesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s WEDNESDAY! And I do love WEDNESDAYS!
There are a lot of things coming out of Uvalde Texas.
A lot of problems and missteps that occurred during the shooting; before the shooting; after the shooting.
It is a bad situation.
One thing I came across this morning was that a teacher did observe the shooter jump over the fence into the schoolyard and into the school.
It goes like this: She saw the shooter wreck his car. She went back into the school to retrieve her phone and call 911 about the accident. Witnesses outside the school shouted to her “HE’S GOT A GUN!” She turned and went back into the school while on the phone telling 911 that the shooter was in the school and shooting! She pulled the propped open door closed behind her as she went into her classroom. IT DID NOT LOCK AS EXPECTED!
Couple parts here to ask What Would You Do.
First, What Would You Do if you saw a person with a gun hop a fence into an elementary school?
Would you follow?
More likely than not, if you saw that happen, you would now be dealing with the fact that you just observed “The Impossible.” That is a scenario that your brain never thought would happen and now you and your brain must figure out what they are going to do together. It creates hesitation as you wrestle with “Fight or Flight.”
Second has to do with doing walk-through exercises. Basically checking your equipment.
The teacher thought the locks on the doors would automatically engage. Apparently the did not. Whenever you have equipment that you need to rely on, NEVER ASSUME it works. Check it. Shut the doors and engage the locks. Do they work? Do they work as expected? If you “think” they work, rest assured, they won’t. You MUST physically check them to make 100% certain.
I have ZERO criticism of the civilians of Uvalde. They did their best based on the facts given to them. My criticism is saved for the final report on the police actions or inactions. What I am trying to do is get people to put themselves in those scenarios and ask What Would You Do? The body can’t go where the mind hasn’t gone. So put the mind in the situation. It can only help!
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember nobody talks to circles because…THERE IS NO POINT! HAHAHAHAHAH…hmmmm
Peace
