Ed-vise: Cousin

An arm STILL feeling sore GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, still feels sore. Add to that now the lymph nodes in my armpit feel tender. Pile on the allergies and, well, NOW I have to stop feeling sorry for myself!

Free For All Friday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s FRIDAY! No OPEN MAT or PIZZA because my friends are being sworn in as officers for the Northwest Columbia Chapter of ASSP!

Going to rant a bit about my family.

My cousin in particular.

He and I grew up together in a manner of speaking. Primarily in the summers.

He has a son who is graduating this year. Actually, he graduates today, and the celebration BBQ is tomorrow.

I knew he was going to graduate when we caught up a few weeks ago. Spousal Support and Newbie joined me for one of my other cousin’s birthdays. Met up with this cousin and was made aware that his son was a senior and would graduate this year.

Did Cousin give any dates as to ceremonies and such? Nope!

BBQ? Nope

ANYTHING? Nope!

Why not? Because he SUCKS!

Yesterday I get a text from Granny regarding events. In a nutshell, we were NEVER made aware of any events.

Come to find out, Cousin wasn’t going to do anything for the graduation. Why? Because he SUCKS! But in addition because his son “didn’t want anything.”

People, listen. There are events in life that are NOT all about you. These events are also celebrations or memorials for others. For the family. I look at things like a graduation as also a milestone for parents. A celebration of a parent’s hard efforts to get their kid to stay on track and graduate.

A celebration of all the BS the kid put them through to get it done!

And for Cousin and his kid, but this almost DID NOT HAPPEN!

So, before you say something like “I don’t want any party for my graduation” realize, life events like this AREN’T ALL ABOUT YOU!

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember nurses like red crayons because sometimes, they have to…DRAW BLOOD! HAHHAHAHAHAHHA…ewww

Peace
