Ed-vise: Space Tears

An another season of American Horror Story GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, another season! OMG! ANOTHER SEASON BABY…YEAH!

Think About it Thursday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s THURSDAY…time to THINK!

As you folks know, I scroll through Tik Tok. And, like the commercial says, I HAVE learned things from Tik Tok. I suppose if I broke it down, I have laughed more than I have learned but I have still learned.

One of the areas I do love to listen to or watch is the scientists. Especially the physicists. First because they have some VERY funny science jokes, second because I really just enjoy listening to them discuss their areas of science. Which includes space. I also follow the NASA rover on Mars which is pretty cool.

Recently the James Webb Telescope has beamed back the pictures and images it took of deep, and I do mean DEEP, space. If you have not seen them, go to NASA.gov and click on the link for the images. Truly amazing pics.

Well, many of the “Geeks” I follow on Tik Tok become quite overcome with emotion when they start talking about the images. Literally brought to tears of joy.

When I first saw this, I did not really understand why they would be so overwhelmed. Why the tears? Why the excitement? I mean we already have deep space pics from the Hubble telescope.

Think About It.

When it comes to this area of science, astrophysics, the majority of the discoveries are theoretical in nature. Meaning the “discoveries” are found through math. Math formulas have done the majority of work finding different bodies in space.

These scientists, for many years as they go through their PhD programs, have been writing numbers on paper and showing it to their colleagues. Imagine if you will having to prove everything you believe true, by numbers on paper. You write them down and show the world. What if the paper was presented to you? Would you understand the numbers? Would you believe the scientist?

Time and again you write the numbers on the paper to explain to the world that something is up there. Time and again you put the paper in front of people and say “Can’t You SEE IT?!” The response is luke warm with “I guess I can see it.”

Well, now, after all that time showing people on paper, these scientists can put the image in front of us and say “it’s right there!”

Basically, after years of self doubt, they can finally say “I was RIGHT!”

When I Think About It in that sense, I can understand why they become so emotional. Or, they have really bad allergies.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember what the movies Titanic and Sixth Sense have in common…I-C DEAD PEOPLE! HAHHAHAHAHA…Get it?!

Peace
