Anti-war protests.
Currently, Russia and Puty are enjoying protests. The people are protesting because Puty has called up 300,000 people to fight in his little “Special Operation” going on in Ukraine. The one that isn’t going very well for him because Ukraine is kicking the crap out of the Russians.
So, because Puty is losing, he decided to throw a bunch more bodies into the grinder. After all, the gears on the Machines of War have to get greased by the blood of the young.
As a result of his calling up 300,000 more people, a bunch of them don’t want to go and fight (die actually). So, out come the protesters.
Here’s the thing: they are NOT protesting against the war. They are protesting because they don’t want to go and fight (die) in it. BIG DIFFERENCE.
See, they fully support the war…as long as it doesn’t directly affect them. It’s OK for YOUR son or daughter to go and fight…not mine. It’s OK to send minorities and poor to fight…not the majority and rich. Notice the difference.
Back in the late 60s, Good Ol’ ‘Murica, had protests. Those were Anti-War protests. Protesting against the Vietnam War. Those protests were the nation rising up and telling DC “HELL NO! WE WON’T GO!” Not “HELL NO! I WON’T GO!” We, the nation, were done with fighting that war. It made no sense. Rich, poor, educated, minority, majority, ALL were against the war in it’s entirety.
I have no sympathy for the Russian protesters. The only reason they are pissed off is because their number has been called to go fight. Tough shit baby! Should’ve protested against the war. Then, I would have some sympathy. Until then, time to pay the Boatman of the River Styx!
