A rainy GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, it’s raining. Go figure. Rain. In the Pacific Northwest. Oh well. Hopefully it is a precursor for a big snowpack!

This Ukraine thing is becoming a much bigger deal.
Russia just did it’s little sham vote thing. What Pooty is trying to do is take over a chunk of Ukraine. This time using the Good Ol’ ‘Murica thing of democracy. He lined up the people in those regions and gave them a ballot that said something to the effect of “Join Russia” or “Die.” Not literally but that was the message.
See, there were literally Russian soldiers with guns going door to door with these ballots and making people vote.
Overwhelming support for joining Russia. Election workers photographed doing the painful job of making sure the ballots were not fraudulent. At least that was how it was pictured.
Reminds me of the times when Saddam Hussein would hold elections in Iraq before we took him out. His elections had a 100% turnout with 100% voting for him. The entire voting population of Iraq turned out for the election. Not a single person was sick or just didn’t feel like voting. They all turned out and all voted for him. Because if they didn’t. Well, you get the picture.
For this Ukraine thing, what will happen is that Russian parliament (Pooty Puppets) will vote and annex those territories. Friday, Pooty will sign off on the annex and those areas will be part of Russia. At least according to the Kremlin and Pooty.
The problem is the rest of the world does NOT agree creating a bit of something to Think About.
What will the rest of the world do about it?
I mean all the countries that disagree with the move issue strong words. Lots of words. Same with the UN. Plenty of agreement against the annexation. But, what will they do about it?
Russia’s entire premise on this has been the thinking that the world won’t do much about anything Russia does. Furthermore, with Russia saying the regions are Russian territory, they can “escalate” the conflict. Don’t know how much more they will “escalate” though. They’ve pretty much thrown everything at the conflict.
Except for nukes.
Which is what the world is hoping the Russians do not do. Nuke Ukraine.
If Russia does that, it will take our little bright blue ball down a very dark path. But a path that, I think, is inevitable.
So, I would encourage you all to read a headline or two about this little fiasco in Ukraine. Get your popcorn and scotch ready because winter is coming and this could get really interesting really quick like.
