Ed-vise: Pick Axe

A stormy night last night GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, a Gully Washer of rain came through last night. It was a soaker…but I managed to get the grill covered!

What Would You Do Wednesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s WEDNESDAY! And I do love WEDNESDAYS!

OK! A great one shows up on my ABC7 feed this morning for today’s What Would You Do Ed-vise.

What would you do if a person showed up on your front porch with a pick axe and started swinging it?

“WHAT?!?!” you ask. Yup, that was in Pasadena. A woman was spotted on the home owners security camera busting out the windows in the house with a pick axe.

This happened around 5pm. An elderly woman (mother in law) was in the house baby-sitting a 6 week old child who was in a bassinet and sleeping during the event.

Several windows were busted along with the door windows as well. The homeowner was at work when his Ring app triggered showing the attack.

Now, mother in law’s action was to grab the baby and run. Which she did just seconds before the assailant busted the window above the bassinet. Still, it begs the question What Would You Do?

What is your first reaction? Remember, there are no wrong answers, only answers.

What if you were a person walking or driving down the street? Would you have the where withal to notice this person with a pick axe wondering down the street? Would you engage them if you did notice them?

Here’s the thing, mental health episodes are becoming all too frequent these days. Perhaps they have always been this high and we just never noticed…who knows. Point is people do end up having a mental health crisis as the assailant in this story did. She owns a house in the neighborhood. Suddenly, she just “snapped.”

The point: Pay attention. Take a look around when you are walking around to the neighborhood. Look at the surrounding activities. I mean, watch any horror movie. Mike Meyers in Halloween for instance. NOBODY noticed this big ass dude with a mask and a knife and NO Tick or Treat bag? NOBODY said “That’s Suspicious.”

Same with this woman and a pick axe. NOBODY saw her walking down the street? NOBODY said “That’s Suspicious.”

I get not trying to take this person down or whatever. Not everybody does jits and even us jits folks might hesitate to take on a person with a pick axe or a mask and big ass knife. But, that doesn’t mean do nothing and dive back into Instagram to look at Michael Meyers clips (some are damn funny). What you do is up to you. Safe to say the time to do something is when the little hairs on the back of your neck start to tingle. THEN, you have to decide What You Will Do.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember never race a barber. They always know a…SHORT CUT! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA…Snip!

Peace
