A Tampa Bay nail biter GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, Brady managed to pull out the win last night from the “Aint’s.” So, if you’re a Tampa Bay fan it was a nail biter. If not, it was a pretty boring game…in reality.

Artificial Intelligence. I’m sure you heard of it. It’s all the rave if you’re a computer nerd.
Basically people writing programs for computers to execute. What do they execute? Stuff. You know. Nerd Stuff.
Well, apparently some wonderful scientists and programmers have developed an AI that you simply tell the thing what you want written and it writes it. NO, this is NOT generated by an AI. It’s ED-VISE. Not AI-VISE!
Sort of like “Siri, write me an essay on the rise and fall of the Roman Empire.” Then, Siri would dive onto the Information Super Highway, go find all the resources, write the paper and provide the necessary citations. Pretty cool, don’t ya think?
Well, one day one of us lawyer types asked this AI to write a paper for a judge (judicial brief) about how the use of bitcoin and crypto currency is protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution.
The AI dove onto the Super Highway, gathered the resources, wrote the paper and put in the citations.
The lawyer, like any good lawyer, checked the citations.
The AI had written a line that said “In a widely quoted case out of California…” The AI gave the citation to the case as well. The citation was in the correct format as well.
The problem: THAT CASE DOES NOT EXIST.
The AI made up it’s own case and citation and then quoted it. Technically it “LIED” as Newbie likes to tell me and anyone else that will listen to her.
It will be cool when AI does what they think it should. The problem is that AI, as was proven, will lie. And you thought AI was just a heartless piece of machinery. HA!
