A gusty winds morning GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, some heavy gusts early this morning. Probably blew out the fire on my hot water heater…like it always does. I hate wind.
Free For All Friday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s FRIDAY! OPEN MAT; PIZZA NIGHT!
Watched the Niners take care of Seattle last night. Pretty good game on the Niners part. Defense was simply overwhelming for Seattle. Offense did their job and that third string QB keeps on keeping on.
“Mr. Irrelevant (Brock Purdy)” he has been called. He was the last player picked in the NFL draft last year. Came out of Iowa State where he was actually a really good QB.
So, there he is, sitting on the sideline. Making league minimum. He was practicing with the practice squad against that kick ass defense. QB 1 goes down first game of the season. He’s out. Jimmy G steps in. Fortunately the Niners didn’t trade him. Jimmy takes them to a positive, winning record.
Then to Miami where Jimmy goes down. He’s out for the season.
Now, Mr. Irrelevant just became “Mr. Relevant.” Up from the practice squad to starting for the Niners and doing a great job of it!
Here’s the thing I was thinking about. His dad came up last week to see his boy do his first NFL start. Mom came as well. They watch him start against Tampa Bay and Tom Brady. His first start against a legendary G.O.A.T. Mind you I don’t think Tom is the GOAT this season. However, he is still pretty good.
Purdy’s dad was just overcome with emotions. Watching his son achieve his life long dream. Starting NFL QB, starting against one of the greats, playing for a legendary team. He was so overwhelmed that the mom of Nick Bosa took it upon herself to console the father and the mother. Putting her arms around the two and giving that human hug. Bosa’s mom would definitely be the expert in this arena. She does have both her sons playing. So does Momma Kelce. Momma Gronkowski at one point had three sons playing.
I’ll let you know what that feels like when my kids hit their dreams. They’re still working on ’em and still making me and Spousal Support Unit proud.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember bees stay in their hives all winter because it’s…SWARM IN THERE! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…buzz, buzz.
Peace
