Ed-vise: Hug Them

A First Post of 2023 GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, it’s the NEW YEAR! And with New Years come New Beginnings and all that other stuff! Exciting times ahead…ALL ABOARD!

Technically Talking Tuesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s TUESDAY…TECHNICALLY.

Some awesome football these past several bowl games.

Some Ed-vise for USC: the game is not over until the final whistle.

With four minutes left to play, USC HAD IT! Fifteen points ahead. Then, the Green Waves of Tulane swept through the Cotton Bowl and took it away. USC gave up 16 points, and the rest is history.

Then I watched the punishment that Penn State laid down on Utah. Tough break for the Utes.

Last, I saw something I had NEVER seen before. A pro football game ended up cancelled after it started.

I’ve seen them stopped and paused for a bit for injuries and for weather. And, after a bit, the game gets going again. But, NEVER have I seen it cancelled and game over.

Bills at Cincinnati. Middle of the first quarter. The Bills safety, Damar Hamlin, makes a clean tackle. Nothing out of the ordinary. No weird anything about the tackle.

He stands up on his own. Then, drops like a sack of potatoes. Lays there. No moving what so ever.

The whole world watched a trained athlete. Highly conditioned player have a heart attack. Just like that. No warning to anyone around him. Just BAM. Down he goes.

He is still alive in critical care at whatever hospital they took him to. I do hope he pulls through as are probably many around the world.

It can happen at any time and it does. To anyone. Even the most athletic. If you recall, there were a few college basketball players that dropped dead from COVID related heart issues. it was in the early days of the pandemic. COVID attacks the nervous system which also keep the heart ticking.

Is it possible he had COVID and was playing? Yup. Very much so. They do not have a cure for it. Thus, Technically the virus is STILL with us. I’m NOT saying that is why he had a heart attack. I’m only point out a possibility. I’ve also read about power athletes who have had heart attacks because the muscles around their heart compressed against the heart during a workout.

I’ve also known of people who have had heart attacks simply by sitting down. You simply don’t know what happened. All we know is that someone’s son is in the hospital. That son was someone who nobody would have expected to have such an event.

So, for 2023, Ed-vise: hug them when you see them; hug them when you leave them because you never know when you will see them again.

I’m just saying

Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember diarrhea is hereditary because it…RUNS IN YOUR JEANS! HAHAHAHAHAHA….EWWW!

Peace and have a great 2023!
