A FAWKIN early morning GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, once again I bought an ungodly early morning flight down to Texas (God bless Texas). 2am wake up for a 5am flight…FAAAAAAWWWWWWKKKKKK!
Think About it Thursday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s THURSDAY! Time to THINK!
I have an uncle in So. Cal. He made buckets of money in So. Cal real estate development. He was one of the early pioneers into the real estate/ land development down there. He started up back in the 50s I think.
For his entire adult life, he did land development, property management, and apartment ownership. Built himself a pretty good size portfolio. When he reached like 75, he sold that business to a pension fund. I don’t know the price but let’s just say that buying Blue Star Donuts and coffee at the PDX airport would NOT be a problem.
You’d think he was retired. Well, that lasted about a day. Then he went into a real estate thing with mobile home parks. Add to that a set up where he a property owner would have him manage the land and he would lease it back to them for use. Don’t ask for details cause I have no idea.
But, Think About It.
Real estate was and is a part of him. It is who he is. It is what he is.
In his current state, you’d think him an old man with a bit of dementia. A casual conversation with him will lead you to that conclusion. Talk to him about real estate and he transforms into a young man. Sharp with all his wits about him. Quite amazing.
I hope to get a chance to talk with him one last time. He too is a deep thinker like I am. Much like Pops, I will miss his conversations, so I hope I can get one last one in.
