Ed-vise Episode 78

Another beautiful and cool GOOD MORNING! to you all my friends and seekers of Truth, Justice, and the ‘Merican way!!!

Today’s bit o trivia: Crossing the Rubicon. The Rubicon is a river in Italy. Sits in the north east of the country. Well, that river marked the boundary between Cisalpine Gual and Rome proper back in the days of the Roman Empire. Well, this time back in 0049, Julius Ceasar decided it would be a good time to go to Rome and take over. At the time, the senate of Rome looked at Ceasar as a criminal and was in the process of stripping him of his governorship. So, rather than deal with all that mess he took his 13th legion to Rome and ran off the Senate with his good buddy Marc Anthony. Small world and kind of fitting all things considered.

Anyway…

Monday Musings Ed-vise today

You know what would have been way cool? What would have been a real show of leadership would have been one of the congressional reps walking out into the chaos and telling that knuckle head with the podium “Put that down.” Like a parent would to a kid.

Things would have taken an entirely different direction had members of Congress NOT took off and hid but instead, stood up for our “sacred hall.”

Several members of Congress, both in the house and the senate, are veterans or serve in a reserve capacity. They took an oath. That oath said they will uphold and defend the Constitution from threats both foreign and DOMESTIC. I know this because I took the same oath.

Yet none of them stood up. None.

There is a resounding, almost unanimous, condemnation of the actions of the mob. Yet, at the time, nobody had the fortitude to remember their oath of office found in Title 5 Section 3331 of the US Code.

It would have been cool to see it actually happen. But not one went out and confronted the mob. I’m just saying.

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember to attack your plate and not your mate.

Peace
