Ed-vise Episode 116

A stormy GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Posting from Seaside this morning and man was it stormy last night! Slept great though! I usually wake up in pain out here.

Today’s bit o trivia: CRISPR. Yup…CRISPR. It is an acronym. Know what it stands for? OF COURSE YOU DON’T! That’s why you’re here! It stands for: Clusters of Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats. “Da FAWK you say?!?!” That’s what you’re thinking huh? OK, stay with me here. We have a thing called DNA. If you recall your biology from high-school, you remember that DNA is made up of a bunch of letters and pairs along a strand. Those letters are called “Nucleotides.” At times along the strand, these letters will repeat. In between those repeats are what they call spacers. Nerds in a lab figured out that you (well, they) can manipulate these spacers which make the cell immune to viruses. From there, it gets spooky what these folks can do with a CRISPR. Like make way better fried chicken

Anyway…

Free For All Friday Ed-vise today!!! Yup, it’s FRIDAY!!!

Just to show you that I am cutting edge, I want to talk a bit about what happened on The Bachelor! Don’t look at me with that tone of voice!

Mind you I didn’t watch it but I it did spark my interest because the Bachelor evidently had to seek therapy after the break up. OK, what was that all about?

So it came down to the final rose. Before he handed it off, he brought the woman together in prayer. No problem. Christian man on global TV making a public stance for Christ. Good on him.

He hands off the final rose to the winner. At the same time, apparently pictures surfaced of her at an Antebellum party where she was dressed up as a participant or whatever. Antebellum has deep roots in the South and a deep history into slavery. When the Bachelor saw this, he confronted her and then came the tears and controversy. Racism was the issue and she apologized for her mistake and her not knowing more about the impact of such a party etc., etc. He decided to break up with her…and that’s my issue.

When do we forgive? This woman, he supposedly loved. Yet he could not forgive her past sins. He could not stand up for the woman that he supposedly “loved” and comfort her during a time when she is being attacked on social media. He would not listen to her apologies and her renunciation of her past sins. Instead, he cast her aside because he was not man enough to stand up for her. It reminds me of the story of Christ and the woman who was to be stoned for adultery. Christ stood up for her and he didn’t even know her. The Bachelor? Well ladies, keep in mind if you decide to date him…HE WILL NOT STAND UP FOR YOU! I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember when one crow tries to get together with another crow…it’s an attempted murder! Get it!? Huh? Do ya?

Peace
