Ed-vise Episode 117

Another rainy GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! I was going to hit the road work this morning. But, it was raining and I didn’t feel like running in the rain so…Yoga starts the morning

Today’s bit o trivia: Coromandel India. Raise your hand if you have ever been here. This little stretch of land sits on the southeast corner of India. Farms and nuclear power plants sit side by side overlooking the Bay of Bengal. The Portuguese used to have a few colonies along the stretch back in the 15th century. One of it’s famous exports was Indian eunuchs which were sent to the Kingdom of Siam. What you might not know…this is where Mr. Doubting Thomas (of Jesus Apostle fame) himself went and was killed preaching the word of God.

Anyway…

Monday Musings Ed-vise today

Had a great weekend spent watching Oregon State basketball advance in the March Madness tournaments. Not a typo as both the men and women pressed forward! Also got to spend some time with my son!

Listened to a couple podcasts one from Bulletproof Radio and Dave Asprey. I’m just getting started with him and I think I will enjoy that journey.

He made a statement that I have thought about for some time before hearing from him. Back in the 80s, the tobacco industry had the ever-loving shit sued out of them for the damage they caused so many people. Billions were paid out by the industry to the states and the plaintiffs. The basis of the suit was that the industry made an addictive product and pushed it on the populace. It made addicts of their product which forced more purchases of the harmful product and more people on the medical system. Which cost states and people a lot of money. Intentional harm was found.

The statement, and belief, is that the processed food industry will get their comeuppance. Comeuppance means a deserved fate. I think this is the road that will happen. Why? Because the science is all but overwhelming about the toxic impact processed food has on the human body. In addition, the addictive nature of the food along with lack of alternatives. I mean walk through a supermarket and you will see the lack of and high cost of healthy foods.

Yes we have a duty to ourselves to take care of our “temples.” Couldn’t agree more. However, food processors should also not provide addictive and unhealthy foods. Look out…it’s coming! I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember there is a legend that if you take a shower and scream “MOM” three times, a nice woman will appear with a towel. Hmmm.

Peace
