Ed-vise Episode 184

A My Eldest Turned 21 GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, 21 years ago yesterday my daughter was born…and it’s been an adventure ever since!

What Would You Do Wednesday Ed-vise today. Because I do love Wednesday!!!

Maybe instead of banning guns we should ban cars. I mean, think about it. You save the environment and you cut out road rage.

So, here I am again, asking What Would You Do if you are being shot at while driving.

First, I beg you, PLEASE DO NOT RETURN FIRE ON THE FREEWAY! More likely than not, you are not trained in how to aim and shoot while driving and will end up killing an innocent person. Which, by the way, if you do, it doesn’t matter that someone was shooting at you first, YOU ARE THE KILLER TO GO ON TRIAL!

Before shots are fired, you can run through scenarios. What Would You Do if you cut someone off accidentally? Or, if someone is tailgating heavily?

For the tailgating thing. For me, if someone comes up on my tail quickly, I get into the slow lane. Too easy. No fuss. I get over or out of their way because, in my scenario driven life, it’s easy to say WHAT IF THAT PERSON HAS AN EMERGENCY? What if they have their loved one laying in the seat next to them dying and they need to get to help. I cannot see what’s in their truck (it’s ALWAYS trucks tailgating) so I do not know.

In the cutting off scenario, if they honk at me or whatever, and we make eye contact, I mouth my apology. No need to finger point or any of it. I get over being called out on it. After all, I AM THE ONE IN THE WRONG! Simply accept it as coaching toward mastery in driving and move on!

People are shitty drivers. Why? Because people are unpredictable. If you don’t want to be shot at, swallow your driving pride and PAY ATTENTION. Your actions will determine if you will be shot or not. “Better to be wrong than DEAD RIGHT” as my father would tell me.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember the name of Bruce Lee’s brother… Sudden Lee! HAHAHAHAHAHA
