A FOOTBALL IS HERE GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, the NFL has finally brought back a sense of normalcy. I do love football and so welcome the show. Especially the Fox pre-game show.
Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY so get after it!
Watched football this weekend. Finally. It had a different feeling this go round. Why? Like the parody song on the Fox Pre-Game was titled: The Fans Are Back (parody on You Lied to Me).
I watched Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay get pummeled by the Saints. Rodgers was sacked and intercepted; beaten up and, well, off. Like…well…off.
After the game, he interviewed and said he had a bad game and that there are 16 more to play. OK. That’s fine. But, he has some head problems going on…from my perspective.
During the off season, Green Bay did not extend him past the 2021 season. That after a great season last year. He really did. Came out as MVP. Then, the offseason came about and Green Bay needed to start looking at it’s future without Aaron Rodgers. After all, they can’t play forever and at 37…Rodgers has not been blessed with an offensive line like Tom Brady.
So, during the off season, Rodgers held out. Then he sat out the pre-season (mistake). But, how else do you make your point known?
Even though these guys are elite level athletes, paid millions to do their thing, they are still human beings. They all assume the same simian squat on the shitter when they have to take a dump (the Great Humbler is the toilet). And at the end of it all, they all have to live with their choices. Just like us. They are not spoiled kids or entitled millennials or whatever other name you want to label them with. They are humans with a job and with the same mental endstates as anyone else.
After all, how would you perform if your boss came to you and said “we want you to work really hard, but your not going to be here come next year.”
I’m just saying
